Painted Ponies Boot Camp Pony
Low 1E/0493
RETIRED 7/1/09
Specially hand embellished by artist (see photos)
The pony on the left in the photo below is embellished; the pony on the right is not embellished and is just used for comparison.

Boot Camp Pony is part of the 10th herd of Painted Ponies.
This pony is in its original box, and comes with styrofoam, hangtag, and collector’s booklet. It is being stored in its box in a smoke-free home.
This pony has been hand embellished by the artist as follows:
EVERY cowboy boot has been hand embellished to resemble the original of this fun pony. A genuine turquoise set in silver has been added to the hat band; the face has had details added; rope edge and name has 18k gold added;a lucky horse shoe in gold tone metal also has been added to the base. The entire pony has been re-glazed for a glowing eye-popping finish. Signed/dated on top of base. He looks like a whole new pony!
The tag reads "A cowboy’s best friends are his horse and saddle, a rope, a hat and a comfortable pair of boots. But boy howdy, when it comes to Painted Ponies you can forget the plain, clunky, brown and black working cowboy boot. Banishing the traditional “high heels of the range” from her imagination, Idaho wildlife artist Maria Ryan created a colorful tribute to the cowboy boot mystique when she bedecked and bedazzled her Pony with an outrageous collection of western fashion footwear and let him kick up his heels."
